Jitendra EV To Launch ‘Yunik’ Electric Scooter In November

Nashik-based electric vehicles (EV) manufacturer Jitendra EV is all set to add a bold new option to its range of electric two-wheelers with the launch of its ‘Yunik’ scooter this November.
The scooter features a bold and masculine design and will be available in a range of exciting colours, in line with its tagline – Be Different, Be Yunik! The scooter is aimed at riders who embrace their uniqueness and want a vehicle that reflects their bold spirit. Featuring enhanced acceleration and performance to justify its robust and bold persona, the scooter is also high on sustainability, claims the company. Pre-bookings for the Yunik are already open at Jitendra EV dealerships.

Mahindra debuts Electric Origin SUVs Called As XEV 9e and BE 6e

Mahindra is all set to introduce two pioneering electric brands, XEV and BE (pronounced as 'be') on 26 November 2024. These vehicles are based on the 'Electric Origin' Inglo architecture, which the company claims to have been a ground-up effort.
Said to have been crafted with an Indian heart and a global outlook, the electric vehicle architectre packs intuitive, intelligent and immersive innovations. From class-leading safety standards to exhilarating performance and impressive range and efficiency, the Inglo architectire is designed to deliver a multi-sensory driving experience.
The XEV 9e will thus redefine electric luxury whereas the BE 6e will deliver bold, athletic performance with their unmissable design, unparalleled technology and unrivalled performance.
While Mahindra has put out a teaser for the two electric SUVs on Youtube, their world premiere on 26 November 2024 will take place in Chennai.

Oben Electric To Launch Rorr EZ Commuter E-Motorcycle On 7 November

Oben Electric, a homegrown electric vehicle manufacturing company, has shared the teaser of its upcoming electric motorcycle the Rorr EZ (pronounced ‘easy’), set to be launched on 7 November 2024.
The new e-motorcycle is targeted towards the commuter segment, and the company claims it will challenge the status quo, bring a fresh wave of innovation and excitement to the segment.
The company claims that Rorr EZ is expected to seamlessly combine convenience, design, performance, and comfort, addressing the typical pain points faced by bikers. The Rorr EZ will feature state-of-the-art patented high-performance LFP battery technology, known for its exceptional heat resistance, longevity, and reliability in India’s diverse climate.
The brand claims it has put a lot of efforts towards developing the e-motorcycle including in-house approach, from R&D to manufacturing critical components such as batteries, motors, vehicle control units, and fast chargers, ensures precision, quality, and a quick response to market shifts. In addition, with Oben Care providing comprehensive aftersales support, the Rorr EZ promises not only a stellar riding experience but also a seamless ownership journey.

Ola Electric Sells 50,000 EVs in October, Grabs 30% Market Share in E2W Space

Ola Electric, one of India’s largest pure-play electric vehicle (EV) company, has announced the sales and registrations for October 2024.
The EV maker has sold over 50,000 units and registered 41,605 units (as per Vahan data) in October 2024, which translates to a market share of 30 percent in India’s electric two-wheeler segment.
The company also reported YoY of 74 percent in registrations in October as compared to the same month last year.
An Ola Electric Mobility spokesperson said, “The festive season has been really strong for us on the back of our expansive portfolio, uptick in consumer demand, and the strengthening of our sales network across India. We have witnessed an increase in EV adoption especially in Tier 2 and 3 markets and we are confident that this positive growth will cascade in the coming months as well.”
The company recently announced a series of initiatives to enhance the aftersales and ownership experience. It kickstarted #HyperService campaign to double company-owned service network to 1,000 centres by December 2024. Additionally, as part of the Network Partner Program, the company will onboard 10,000 partners across sales and service by the end of 2025. The company also announced its EV Service Training Program with the aim of training 100,000 third-party mechanics to make every mechanic EV-ready across India.
At present, Ola Electric has an expansive range of S1 portfolio with six offerings across price points catering to meet varied customers requirements. While the premium offerings S1 Pro and S1 Air are priced at INR 134,999 and INR 107,499, respectively, the mass market offerings include S1 X portfolio (2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh) priced at INR 74,999, INR 87,999, and INR 101,999, respectively.
At its annual ‘Sankalp’ event in August 2024, the company announced the launch of its Roadster motorcycle series, comprising Roadster X (2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh), Roadster (3.5 kWh, 4.5 kWh, 6 kWh), and Roadster Pro (8 kWh, 16 kWh). The motorcycles offer many segment-first technology and performance features, with their prices starting from INR 74,999, INR 104,999, and INR 199,999, respectively.

Ramachandra Puttanna Appointed New Business Head For Greaves Retail EV Business

Greaves Cotton, a leading diversified engineering company, has announced the appointment of Ramachandra Puttanna as the new Business Head for EV Solutions & New Businesses within Greaves Retail.
In his new role, Puttanna will be responsible for driving the strategic growth plan for Greaves Retail’s electric vehicle (EV) components and new verticals. He will report to Narasimha Jayakumar, CEO, Greaves Retail, as Greaves continues to advance its strategy in sustainable mobility solutions across India.
Greaves Retail is focussing on being a fuel-agnostic provider, delivering comprehensive sales, service, and spare parts solutions across three-wheelers (3W), two-wheelers (2W), small commercial vehicles (SCVs), electric vehicles (EVs), and construction equipment.
The company specialises in ensuring high vehicle uptime and maximised asset productivity, positioning it among the top three in the aftermarket segment.
Puttanna come with over 35 years of extensive experience and has worked with companies such as Fenner India, Bosch India, Oman Trading, Magneti Marelli, and ZF Group.
Most recently, he served as Vice-President of the Aftermarket business at ZF Group, where he managed operations across India and the SAARC regions.
He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Mysore University, Puttanna has furthered his education with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Marketing) from Bangalore University and an Advanced Program in Business Management from IIM Bangalore.
