JK Tyre organised the JK Tyre Ladies Power Drive 2023 (a fun filled navigational time, speed and distance) motorsport event in Kolkata on 20 August 2023.
Organised by Just Sportz under the aegis of FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India), the event received good response from lady drivers of the ‘City of Joy’ with over 40 women participating.
Held in its simplest format as a rallying where an individual with a driving license can participate with a navigator to guide through the route of the rally, the JKTyre Ladies Power Drive 2023 event put to test the skills of the drivers and navigators in maintaining correct speed and timing while following a designated route using a tulip.
Not exactly about speed but about getting the timing and strategy right to achieve the best results on different stages, the event saw women drivers gaining valuable insights into the nuances of professional rally driving without directly involving high speeds and specialised vehicles.
The JKTyre Ladies Power Drive 2023 motorsport event followed the hosting successful editions of women’s only time, speed and distance events in West (JK Tyre WIAA Rally to Valley) and North (JK Tyre Times Women’s Drive) India; the JK Tyre Defence Wives Power Drive and JK Tyre FICCI YFLO Power Drive.
The JKTyre Ladies Power Drive 2023 event was flagged off from Hotel Westin and moved through the roads and streets of Kolkata for over four hours before coming to an end at the same venue. The winners of the event were announced over a glittering prize distribution ceremony.
Sanjay Sharma, Head - Motorsport, JK Tyre, said, “Embracing the thrilling world of motorsport, we at JK Tyre are steadfastly committed to propelling women into the fast lane of this dynamic realm.
