Honda has unveiled two electric motorcycle concept models, ‘EV Fun Concept’ and the ‘EV Urban Concept’ at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy.
This comes on the back of a news circulating in the Indian media space about the Japanese two-wheeler major in advanced stages of launching a stylish and technologically advanced electric scooter in India by the end of this fiscal or in early 2025 calendar year.
Talking about the two electric motorcycle concepts, the ‘EV Fun Concept’ is Honda’s first electric sports model and will be commercial made available in 2025.
Developed as a next-generation electric motorcycle that offers a new sensation of quiet riding and an emotional feeling that is unique to electric motorcycles, the ‘EV Fun Concept’ leverages the Japanese automakers’ long-developed motorcycle technologies to put-together a machine that is quiet, vibration-free, slim and easy-to-manage.
The last bit could be attributed to the chassis package realised by a fixed battery. The charging system for the concept e-motorcycle was developed by applying the company’s know-how and technologies cultivated in its automobiles and power products. The battery is compatible with the CCS2 quick charger and has been developed to optimise the balance between light weight and quick charging performance. The range the motorcycle will offer will be over 100 km for a single charge.
The EV Urban Concept is an electric model that embodies Honda’s vision of urban electric mobility with its function-focused design, connected technologies and in-house developed battery pack.
The concept e-motorcycle embodies the Japanese automaker’s vision of what urban electric mobility should be like. It underscores a vision of near-future mobility that cooperates and resonates with people and society through its essential and sophisticated styling, intuitive human-machine interface (HMI), and new experiences created by the fusion of software and hardware.
Making strong progress toward its plan to introduce 30 electric models globally by 2030, Honda is accelerating its efforts to develop a full lineup of electric motorcycles to meet the diversifying needs of customers and promote the development of a wide variety of electric vehicles.
The company is expanding its global market share in the field of electric motorcycles.

Italian superbike manufacturer Ducati India has launched the Panigale V4 R at INR 8.49 million (ex-showroom). The motorcycle serves as the technical base for the World Superbike Championship models and is produced in a numbered series with the serial number displayed on the steering plate.
The Panigale V4 R is powered by a 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine capable of 16,500 rpm. It produces 218 hp in standard configuration, increasing to 235 hp with a racing exhaust and 239 hp when used with specific performance oil. The engine incorporates lighter pistons and a crankshaft with increased inertia, technologies developed from MotoGP. The gearbox features a racing layout where neutral is positioned below first gear to prevent accidental engagement during braking.
The chassis includes a front frame and a symmetrical swingarm designed for use with slick tyres. Aerodynamic updates include corner sidepods and larger wings that increase downforce by 25 percent compared to the previous model. The electronics suite uses an algorithm called Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) to manage engine braking, traction control and wheelie control. A 6.9-inch TFT dashboard provides a visual representation of estimated tyre grip.
Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, “We are immensely proud to introduce the Panigale V4 R to the Indian market. This motorcycle is a true testament to Ducati's racing soul and sporting DNA, bringing technology and performance from MotoGP and WorldSBK directly to the streets. The Desmosedici Stradale R engine, the advanced aerodynamics, and the racing-derived electronics are engineered for one purpose: to offer unparalleled performance on the track. For the discerning Indian enthusiast who demands the absolute best, the Panigale V4 R is not just a motorcycle; it's an experience of what it feels like to ride a true racing machine.”
The motorcycle is available in the Ducati Red livery across all dealerships in India. Standard equipment includes Ohlins suspension, Brembo Hypure calipers and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 tyres.
