Mercedes-Benz Electric Scooter Added To The EQ Family

Mercedes-Benz, the name synonymous with high-end luxury cars and SUVs, has come up with an emission-free solution for the last-mile journeys, a foldable electric scooter.

The scooter carrying the famed three-star logo of Mercedes-Benz, comes from the same stable as the fully-electric EQ family that consists of the EQV (the electric people carrier) and the EQC (an electric SUV). The eScooter is being launched in collaboration with Swiss micro mobility specialists Micro Mobility Systems. It enables the Stuttgart-based automotive manufacturer to meet the need that many customers have for flexible, individual mobility solutions, particularly in urban transport. That proverbial extra mile is where the Mercedes-Benz eScooter can fully unfold its potential. Emission-free micro-mobility is a valuable component on the way to livable cities with an intelligent traffic mix and thus supports improving air quality. In addition, it corresponds perfectly to the modern urban lifestyle. Especially when using their own eScooter, the driver can rely on the ideal and handy product at all times. And, since it can be taken anywhere, it does not pose any burden to the public space.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the electric motor, with maximum 500 W power, quickly accelerates the eScooter to the 20 km/h permitted in Germany, and the 7.8 Ah battery gives a range of up to 25 km. The eScooter has front and rear suspension and is fitted with 20 cm diameter rubber wheels that effortlessly handle uneven surfaces like cobblestones.

Norton Manx R Bags International Design Excellence Award
- By MT Bureau
- August 23, 2026
TVS Motor Co-owned British marquee brand Norton Motorcycles has received a Bronze award at the International Design Excellence Awards for its Manx R superbike in the Automotive and Transportation category.
Organised by the Industrial Designers Society of America, the annual awards ceremony took place in Pasadena, California, where Darren McNeill, Head of Marketing at Norton US, collected the honour. Interestingly, Manx R becomes the first production sports motorcycle with an internal combustion engine (ICE) to receive an IDEA award.
Simon Skinner, Head of Design, Norton Motorcycles, said, “The Manx R was created to challenge what a modern superbike can look and feel like. We wanted to move away from visual noise and create something more reductive, more crafted and more connected to the rider. Every surface, exposed component and detail had to earn its place. Winning an IDEA award is a proud moment for the whole Norton team because it recognises the depth of design thinking behind the bike, not just the finished object.”
The Manx R was developed as the primary model under Norton's Resurgence strategy following its acquisition by TVS Motor Company. Chief Creative Advisor Professor Gerry McGovern OBE shaped the design direction, while Simon Skinner led the engineering and styling teams at Norton’s headquarters in Solihull, UK.
Gerry McGovern said, “From the beginning, the ambition for Norton’s Resurgence was to create a design direction that was modern, emotionally engaging and worthy of the brand’s extraordinary heritage. The Manx R proves that motorcycles, like cars, can be objects of desire through proportion, stance, drama and detail. To see that recognised by an international jury of designers is a meaningful endorsement of the direction Norton has taken.”
The motorcycle features a V4 engine, semi-active suspension, Brembo brakes, rider assistance systems and an eight-inch TFT display. The Manx R superbike and the Atlas adventure motorcycle will go on sale in the United States starting in October 2026.
