Hyundai Creta Completes 10 Years as India’s Top-Selling Mid-Size SUV

Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) is celebrating 10 years of its best-selling SUV, the Hyundai Creta, which has firmly established itself as a segment leader since its launch in July 2015.

Having sold over 1.2 million units in India, the Creta has consistently been amongst the top selling SUVs in the country, maintaining its No.1 position year after year. At present, it has captured a 31 percent market share and shown strong performance in 2025, emerging as the top-selling vehicle across all categories in three of the year’s first six months. The Creta SUV is available in Petrol, Diesel, Turbo and Electric powertrain options, with both manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyundai Creta’s annual sales have more than doubled since its debut – surging from 92,926 units in 2016 to 186,919 in 2024 – while more than 287,000 units have been exported to over 13 countries. The model’s appeal is evident not just from its dominant local market share, but also from the increasing share of first-time buyers, rising from 12 percent in 2020 to 29 percent by 2024. Sunroof-equipped variants now make up about 70 percent of total sales, reflecting evolving preferences among Indian buyers for premium features.

Over the years, Hyundai has invested in continuous evolution for the Creta, launching two special editions – the Knight Edition and Adventure Edition – to cater to a diverse customer base. Each variant features unique styling and functional upgrades, further establishing CRETA as both an icon and an aspiration for SUV enthusiasts. Brand taglines have charted the SUV’s journey, beginning with ‘A Perfect SUV’ in 2015, evolving to ‘The Ultimate SUV’ in 2020, and currently, the ‘Undisputed Ultimate SUV’, reinforcing its image as the benchmark for the segment.

This high-performance SUV is now available for booking through MINI’s authorised dealerships across the country and will be offered as a completely built-up unit, with customer deliveries set to begin shortly.

Priced from INR 6,490,000 (ex-showroom), this model represents the most potent MINI ever introduced to the Indian market. Its performance is driven by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that generates 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This power enables a remarkable 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 5.4 seconds, cementing its status as the brand's fastest offering in India, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. Power is managed by a 7-Speed Double Clutch Steptronic Sport Transmission and an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, ensuring precise power distribution for both on-road agility and off-road capability. Mercedes-Benz India has fortified the legendary G-Class lineage with the launch of the all-new G 450d, a vehicle distinguished by the most potent diesel engine in the brand's portfolio. This introduction completes a comprehensive powertrain strategy for the iconic SUV in India, now encompassing a diesel, a petrol, and a fully electric model. The G 450d is powered by an advanced 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine, augmented by a 48-volt electrical system and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). This sophisticated powertrain generates 270 kW and a formidable 750 Nm of torque, propelling the substantial SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 210 kmph.

The model's identity remains deeply rooted in its unparalleled off-road capability, honed over 45 years. Its proven ladder-frame construction, three 100 percent mechanical differential locks and a suspension system combining a double-wishbone independent front setup with a rigid rear axle form the bedrock of its rugged character. Key off-road metrics include a maximum 100 percent gradeability, a fording depth of 70 cm and approach, departure and breakover angles of 31, 30 and 26 degrees respectively. VinFast Sales Pass 100,000 Units In Nine Months Of 2025

VinFast, one of the youngest automotive companies, has announced that it has become the first car brand in Vietnam to pass 100,000 vehicle sales within the first three quarters of a single year. The milestone follows 11 consecutive months as the nation’s top-selling carmaker.

In September 2025, VinFast delivered 13,914 electric vehicles, bringing the total for the first nine months of the year to 103,884 units.

  • The VF 3 recorded 31,386 units sold in the first nine months, with 2,682 units sold in September.
  • The VF 5 followed with 30,956 units sold over the same period, including 3,847 units in September. Its fleet variant, the Herio Green, sold 8,604 cumulative units.
  • The VF 6 reached 14,425 units since the start of the year, with 1,933 delivered in September.
  • The VF 7 recorded 5,877 cumulative sales over nine months, with 778 units sold last month.
  • The Limo Green, a seven-seater MPV, sold 2,120 vehicles in September.

With three months of Q4 remaining and production capacity increased at its Hai Phong and Ha Tinh manufacturing complexes, VinFast expects to set more records by end-2025.
