Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan has partnered Flipkart to introduce digital buying experience for its customers.

From 15 April 2025, potential customers in eight Indian states – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya and Mizoram will be able to book Suzuki scooters and motorcycles on Flipkart. To begin with customers will have options to purchase the Avenis scooter and GIXXER, GIXXER SF, GIXXER 250, GIXXER SF 250 and V-Strom SX motorcycles online.

Deepak Mutreja, Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “As more customers now prefer digital platforms for their purchases, we are committed to meeting them where they are. By associating with Flipkart, we are leveraging the growing digital ecosystem to offer customers a convenient and trusted platform to explore and buy Suzuki two-wheelers. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has initiated a voluntary recall campaign covering 96 units of the Rebel 500 motorcycle manufactured between April 2025 and August 2025. The move forms part of a global recall campaign undertaken by Honda for specific Rebel 500 units.

The company has identified that the handle-lock fixing screw on the affected motorcycles may not have been tightened to specification during assembly. In certain circumstances, the screw may loosen, with the potential to affect steering movement.

As of 30 September 2026, HMSI reported zero related incidents in India. As a precautionary measure, the company will replace the handle-lock screw on all affected motorcycles free of charge, regardless of warranty status.

The recall campaign will commence in the first week of November 2026 across authorised Honda BigWing dealerships. Dealerships will contact affected owners directly via phone, email, or SMS to schedule replacement appointments. Owners can also verify vehicle coverage by entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in the recall section of the HMSI website.

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has recorded total dispatches of 766,348 units in September 2026, up 12 percent YoY, as compared to 687,220 units last year.

The company’s motorcycle sales totalled 665,994 units as against 626,217 units last year, while scooter sales reached 100,354 units, up from 61,003 units a year ago.

In the domestic market, the company sold 739,018 units compared to 647,582 units a year ago, while export dispatches reached 27,330 units against 39,638 units in September 2025.

Interestingly, petrol two-wheeler sales 710,436 units during the month compared to 632,253 units in September 2025, driven by a 60 percent YoY growth in ICE scooter dispatches. In the electric mobility segment, the company's Vida unit reported dispatches of 28,798 units in September 2026.

For H1 FY2027, cumulative dispatches reached 3.54 million units, up from 3.05 million units as compared to the same period last year. This includes 3.11 million motorcycles, while cumulative scooter dispatches reached 432,810 units. In the domestic market, the sales totalled to 3.35 million units, while cumulative exports reached 190,642 units.

Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL), a leading two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced its wholesales for September 2026.

The company sold a total of 133,688 units last month, representing an 8 percent increase compared to 123,550 units sold a year ago.

Domestic deliveries reached 108,806 units for the month, rising 3 percent from 105,886 units last year. Export volumes grew 41 percent YoY to 24,882 units compared to 17,664 units in September 2025.

The company also recorded spare parts sales revenue of INR 1,112 million during the month, marking a 26 percent increase over INR 881 million in September 2025.

Deepak Mutreja, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, "We thank our customers and dealer partners for their continued trust and support. September saw growth in both domestic sales and exports, with domestic sales improving over last year’s higher base when GST 2.0 reforms supported customer demand. As the festive season progresses, our focus remains on meeting customer expectations and making the Suzuki ownership experience more convenient, connected and rewarding."

During the month, the company updated its product range with new colour options across the Gixxer, Gixxer SF, Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer SF 250 FFV models, alongside the introduction of the Hayabusa Special Edition.

Chennai-headquartered two-wheeler and three-wheeler major TVS Motor Company has announced its wholesales for September 2026 and Q2 FY2027.

In September 2026, total sales reached 672,790 units, reflecting a 24 percent YoY growth compared to 541,064 units last year. Two-wheeler volumes rose 23 percent to 645,955 units, with domestic two-wheeler sales accounting for 482,073 units, up 17 percent from 413,279 units.

Electric two-wheeler sales recorded a 110 percent increase to 65,799 units in September 2026, compared to 31,266 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.

On the exports front, TVS Motor Co shipped 180,700 units, up 48 percent YoY, as compared to 122,108 units in September 2025.

Two-wheeler exports accounted for 163,882 units, up 48 percent from 110,644 units last year. Three-wheeler sales reached 26,835 units in September 2026, representing a 57 percent increase from 17,141 units YoY.

For Q2 FY2027, the company registered sales of 1.9 million units, representing a 27 percent increase compared to 1.5 million units a year ago.

Two-wheeler sales reached 1.8 million units for the quarter, while three-wheeler volumes grew 47 percent to 78,475 units from 53,449 units. Total international business volumes rose 35 percent to 539,000 units from 400,000 units in the year-ago period. Quarterly two-wheeler electric vehicle sales increased 133 percent to 186,000 units.
